“The ART of Buying ART” – Tip #2

It can be a bit intimidating to shop for ART. ARTprojectA wants to demystify the process by giving you tools and tips; so whether you stop by a gallery or shop online, you feel comfortable in making a buying decision. Tip #2 from Barbi Reed, owner of ANNE REED GALLERY, an ART collector, and ARTprojectA.com co-founder, in our series of Top Ten Tips for buying ART.

TIP #2 – “Listen to ‘your heart’ or some say, ‘your gut.’ This goes beyond Step No. 1 and tests your true feelings about the art you like. Trust those feelings. Sometimes they will emerge immediately; in other cases it will take viewing the work for awhile before your heart or gut will speak. “

This mixed media, pigment collage by California artist INEZ STORER, “Patriotic Dog,” instantly ‘spoke’ to Carter Hedberg, Director of Business Development for ARTprojectA.com.  A fan of mixed media ART, he was drawn to the tones, texture, and theme of this work.  By the way, he’s also a big lover of dogs!
