ARTprojectA’s 10+ TIPS ABOUT FRAMING: TIP#5

RUTH SILVERMAN “Nandina,” 2002, Pigment print, 12″x12″ (image 9″x9″) – $225

ARTprojectA is demystifying the process of selecting and buying ART through our online resources like ART Glossary or ART 101.  Plus you can always email or call us with your questions, we love to hear from you!   Many of our clients have inquired about the best way to frame their ART.  So we recently turned to Barbi Reed,  ARTprojectA.com co-founder, owner of ANNE REED GALLERY and experienced ART collector for her advice and expertise.  Today is TIP #5 in our series about framing.

TIP #5 – “Selecting the color of the mat is part of the process. Mats are often chosen based on colors which appear in the artwork. When choosing an all-white mat (our usual preference), try to match the “white” in the paper or print/photograph, as there are many different shades of white or off-white.”

OWEN MORTENSEN “Yin-Yang Circles,” 2011, Leaves on paper, Set, each 18″x18″ – $500
